Book early, May fills first

Graduation is the most concentrated week of our year. Every high school and university in Hillsborough and Pinellas commences within the same fortnight, and the Saturday after commencement is the single busiest day we bake. If your graduate is finishing this spring, six to eight weeks of notice is realistic.

What works well

  • Hand-painted crests, sharper than printed images and they photograph better
  • Stacked tiers in school colours, often with a mortarboard or diploma topper
  • Class year in gold, which reads clearly from across a room
  • Display cake plus sheet cake, which suits the come-and-go nature of grad parties

Sizing for a graduation party

Graduation parties are unusually hard to size because guests drift in over several hours. Plan roughly one serving per invited guest rather than per confirmed guest, and keep the sheet cake in the kitchen so you are not committed to cutting it all. The serving guide gives exact numbers by pan size, and we can size it for you if you tell us the invite count on the quote form.

Common questions

Can you match my school colours and crest?

Yes. We hand-paint crests and logos rather than printing them where possible. It holds up better in photos. Send us the school name and a clear image of the crest with your quote request.

When should I order for graduation season?

Early. May and June are the busiest weeks of our year in Tampa and dates go quickly. Six to eight weeks ahead is sensible, and the weekend after commencement is the first to fill.

Can you put a photo of the graduate on the cake?

Yes, with an edible image. A hand-painted crest with the class year usually photographs better, but a photo works well on a lower tier or a sheet cake alongside.

How much cake for a graduation party?

Graduation parties tend to be large and informal, with people coming and going. Plan for roughly one serving per invited guest and consider a display cake plus sheet cake, see the serving guide.
